My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose
Here is what Yuto, Yumi, Marina, Saori, and Hiroshi had to say about the flower after reading pages 1-27 of The Little Prince.
Thorn describes the inner weakness of flower. She pretended to be OK or strong. We thought it is human like. She is sad because she can protect with her thorns from animals but she can’t protect herself from strong wind or coldness.
Why he loves the flower even if flower was unfriendly to the Little Prince?
Why didn’t she confess her feelings for the prince without she couldn’t move?

I think if he doesn’t love flower, he isn’t angry with flower’s rude behavior.

I think he has loved the flower since he met her for the first time.
I think the Little Prince thought there is no one who protect
flower without the Little Prince, so he thought he has to
protect her. And he also thought she behaves unfriendly to
hide her weakness.
I think the Little Prince already finished going,so she
doesn’t want to interrupt him and change his decision.

May 22nd, 2008 at 10:43 pm-Because he realized the flower’s real feeling which she loved him when he was talking with the author. Also, when he knew that, he regreted that he left her on his planet. I think The regretful feeling is the evidence that he loves her.
Actually flower was unfriendly to Little Prince, but it was a fake attitude. Later, he notice a hidden gentility and that she was an important existence for him, so he loves her, I think. People often notice the importance until they lost it.
May 23rd, 2008 at 8:08 amI think I can undestand the flower’s real feelings. She wanted him to know her thinking but she couldn’t do that. I think she didn’t like herself because she couldn’t show her feelings easily. The little prince did know her real thinking and her pretending she was ok. He knew about her so he could decide to go to another planet.
