The Businessman
The businessman was very busy to calculate. He has a lot of money. He is satisfied with placing money in the bank. Is he happy or unhappy?
Azusa said that he is unhappy because he doesn’t have a chance to use it. Kaori said that he is happy because he likes to calculate and make money. Mami said that he doesn’t have a feeling of happiness or unhappiness because he is so busy.
What do you think?

My opinion is similar to Mami. It isn’t matter whether to caliculate is happy or not for him. He has no idea except culculating. I think he is so pitiable because he doesn’t know other world. To caluculate is not everything in the world.
May 25th, 2008 at 9:57 pmI also agree about the Mami’s opinion, because he just want to be satisfied, I think. He don’t want to think about everything, also he want to be absorbed in something. As Yuki said, he doesn’t know to do except calculating.
May 26th, 2008 at 11:58 pmI totally agree with you guys, but my opinion is particularly similar to Kaori’s one. There is one real example. My grandmother really likes her job, until she cannot continue because of the cancer, she kept her working. One day, I asked why you are working so long. Then, she answered “Working is enjoyable for me, and it is the best time.” That businessman may have same feeling with her. Maybe lol.

May 29th, 2008 at 12:39 amI agree Kaori. I think he is too busy to care about his sorround things. He work hard and he doesn’t have time to spend money, so he has a lot of money. He doesn’t like disturbed his work, so I think it can say he is isolated because he avoids to relate with other people. Saving money is a kind of his hobby and he is happy.

June 1st, 2008 at 8:04 pmThe business man doesn’t know himself and whether counting the stars and getting a lot of money make him happy or not. I think he is afraid to know it, because he thinks without this counting work he wouldn’t know what to do and look uncool. He would be poor and lonely man. That’s why he doesn’s care if he is happy or not. He just keep counting without any reason not to know himself and reality.
I’m curious, guys. So, why did he start counting in the first place? Do you think that by having the little prince question him and how he acted, did the businessman change in some way?
I’d love to hear your opinion.

June 2nd, 2008 at 5:34 amI think he was really lonely and needed to find something to work on or keep him busy to forget the lonliness. Groun-ups think that they shouldn’t tell anybody about their lonliness, and if the lonliness are turned out, they would be ashemed and wouldn’t look cool as adults. Finally the business man got a work to count innumerable stars. I guess he thought it is suitable for him because it would take for ages to finish his work. He says he is serious and complains a lot about his busyness, but he wanted such a work and actually he make himself busy.
