The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
This semester we will embark on an exciting journey in the wonderful world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. In order to learn a little bit more about the stories, characters, and places related to this book, you watched the movie The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. I think this movie was mainly about people’s greed.
September 24th, 2008 at 1:21 amThe ring has a special and powerful power,so even Frodo’s traveling companion yielded to the magical power of the ring and he tried to rob it. Therefore I thought from this movie that people’s greed causes some struggles and evil deeds.
Also, it’s an interesting points for me.
It is sure that this movie was interesting,but unfortunately it was so long that I was tired to watch it…
It’s my first time to watch this movie even if this is very famous. My impression is… it’s kind of heavy, or hard for me. There are many evil creatures so i was difficult to see them, but i also think 9 heroes are so brave. Through their road, they got to same feelings even though they started to split in middle of their adventure. I think Frodo became brave. But this story is going to continue so i want to watch the next story. Moreover i’m looking forward to read HOBBIT!!
September 24th, 2008 at 2:50 pmThis movie is so large－scale and I was so excited. Frodo’s village(Shaia) is NewZealand, and I had visited there 4years ago. Big nature in the village reminds me my fantastic trip!
September 24th, 2008 at 3:01 pmI know there are many highlights in this movie, but my favorite scene is Borromir tried to fight with The Orcs to protect Merry and Pippin, even if the arrow hit him. I could feel the soul of samurai from Borromir.To be honest, I like to see Aragorn.I will enjoy the reading of the Hobbit.
This movie was so fearful for me, so it was hard time to watch it, because there were many fighting scenes and strange creatures. However, I was impressed with bonds of friendship, especially between Frodo and Sam. Whatever happened, they tried to help each other and also they did not escape. I think we can learn about importance of friend from this movie.

September 24th, 2008 at 7:21 pmMy favorite character is Sam. Even though he has nothing to do with the ring, he travels with Frodo and always supports him. It’s clear that Frodo can’t accomplish his mission without Sam’s help. So I think Sam plays an important role in the movie and he is an another main character. Moreover, I think Sam is an real hero.
I like fantasy, and The Load of the Ring is the typical movie of it. There is magnificent drama of love and courage. They worked out stage and cosume in laborious detail. I really respect these fantastic creations. However, I’ve never read this story in text, so I’m so looking foward to studying with The Hobbit.

I thought that this movie wanted to tell us about the cultural difference what people’ve been succeeded for a long decades. When I understood the meaning of the ring, I was fascinated and also shocked.

It even controls the whole world. I did not care about the title, ” The Road Of The Ring”, before watching it, but I realized how big meanings it has. The ring was taken over by many kinds of people and saw many kinds of worlds such as greed, courage, friendship, love, sadness, and so on. It is like a road, but it is not just a road. Nobody can experience it, but the ring can. I think we can discuss about the meanings of “the road”. It’ll be interesting.

I like the theme of this film. this movie represents man’s greed, weakness and ugliness. it is really intererting because other fantasy movies dont do this. however the story was not interesting. whole story didnt make me excited and it was too long.
ladies may like this movie because there are many super good looking guys in this movie, but there isnt any beautiful women. it is unfair.
producers of this film should have used more hot chicks then i could enjoy the movie.
September 25th, 2008 at 1:00 amI felt The Lord of the Rings is more interesting compared to other fantasy movies because this movie shows us a great contrast between lightness and darkness. In the early scene, it introduce each individual tribes such as Hobit and it also depicts peaceful life in the village. However, the dark scene comes to be seen many gradually from when Frod owned the Ring. The ring fascinates, eats at the owner’s heart and also changes his character. I think this movie shows how the ring produce a powerful effect to people aptly by using the contrast. I feel the contrast between lightness and darkness makes this movie more profound.
September 25th, 2008 at 4:38 amI have an impression of people’s good and evil sides in this movie. 9 brave warriors fighted for the world and 8 warriors except for Frodo helped and defended Frodo even if they sacrificed themselves. Also people wished for the powerful ring because they fell a victim to greed.

But I like this story because it’s very exciting and interesting. So I’m looking forward to reading The Hobbit. By the way my favarite character is Legolas.

It seems that there are a some difficult points and some interesting points about this movie. There are many characters, the story is complex, and the mood is a little dark. On the other hand, the movie shows us some good qualities such as friendship and bravery, and the plot of the movie is interesting and exciting.
Remember that The Hobbit is the prequel to this movie. So when we read the book, we will find out what happened to the characters BEFORE The Fellowship of the Ring.
@Ayayka – The ring does have special power, and in the book The Hobbit, we’ll find out more about how Bilbo got this ring.
@Yuki- It was really interesting that you have been to New Zealand. The landscape must be beautiful there! Also, you made a good point about the samurai spirit!
@Midori- My favorite character in this movie is also Legolas!

I think that actually everyone wants to have power.
So I can understand people who want lord of the ring but it is not fair.
So I want Hobbits to destroy it as soon as possible!!
When wizard died, I was really shocked because I think he is important for hobbits and their fellow ship.
I didn’t think that I watch this movie because actually, I don’t like fantasy stories.
However this movie has many beautiful landscape and I was moved that everyone corporates each other finally in the story.
I will watch lord of the ring 2 and 3.

September 25th, 2008 at 10:03 pmMonsters were terrible, but I also think people are terrible too, because they lost their minds for their desires in front of the ring. However, I think Frodo is strong because he didn’t lose his mind.
This movie was interesting so I’ll watch the next one.
